MASTER YOUR CAMERA HALF DAY SESSIONS:
Learn how to master your camera with a one to one private photography workshop. Master manual modes, learn the key features of your camera and improve your photography skills with practical sessions on location in Scotland.
£165.00 per person ( 4.5 hrs duration ).
Location options – Edinburgh, St Andrews, Fife or Perthshire – other locations maybe be available on request.
Master your Camera sessions are a great introduction for beginners or those trying to find their feet with the basics. They offer a practical introduction to digital landscape, outdoor and travel photography.
Topics covered include:
- basic equipment use and advice, what you need and what you don’t
- optimising camera functions,
- shooting in manual and mastering exposure
- using histograms
- understanding depth of field
- composition techniques
Your also encouraged to bring selection of your previous images in digital format for review and assessment, a valueable learning experience in itself.
CREATIVE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY:
Creative Landscapes sessions are a little more advanced and focus on the “creative side” of the capture process. You’ll learn more about building compositions, seeing shots, subtleties of soft and hard light and long exposure techniques.
When to use filters and when not to, relying more on camera craft and developing your eye to create powerful imagery rather than heavy handed photo editing skills. Then there’s lens choice, simplifying workflow and composition and perhaps a little editing workflow*. A complete practical guide to get you on track and creating better images.
Single day £295.00 / two days £590.00
Locations – Edinburgh , St Andrews and Fife, Pitlochry & Perthshire. You’ll be met on location and taken to a variety of locations within each area.
Highland locations* options – Inverness, Loch Ness & The Black Isle, Torridon and Loch Maree, Inverpolly and Assynt *
You’ll be picked up at your accommodation in Inverness and taken to a variety of locations within 90 mins of Inverness. You’ll be dropped off at the end of your session.
Day session duration is around 8hrs depending on time of year. Conditions permitting they can start to coincide with dusk session on location. You’ll be advised prior to pick up or your session time and location unless you have particular preference.
*A £25 per day supplement applies for Highland locations.
CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY ADVENTURES:
I understand some people like to do their own thing and that’s great. So either on your own, with a group of friends or associates I can tailor a guided photography trip with guidance and tuition to suit your preferences. When, where and how long is entirely up to you.
2019 will be Lightstalkers Scotland’s 10th anniversary , so we’ve plenty experience in guiding photographers here in Scotland, you’ll be in good hands.
Custom Photography Adventures
Rates start at £325.00* per person per day (around 8 – 10 hrs). Contact me directly for group rates for longer periods.
These custom sessions offer a more tailored set of options and usually involve a dusk or dawn session depending on the time of year. They offer more location options plus more time for tuition and developing your skills. Drop me a line and I’d be happy to discuss your options.
Inverness based locations: Loch Ness, the Black Isle, Torridon, Inverpolly, The Cairngorm National Park. You’ll be staying in Inverness ( own expense) and be picked each morning then returning later in the day or evening depending on the time of year.
Classic locations : Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, The Isle of Skye, Inverpolly and Assynt, The Moray Coast. We’ll base ourselves on location overnight allowing us more time to experience and photograph each area. Classic locations are subject to additional fees for accommodation for each guest and myself and applicable expenses, ferries etc.
Please bring a selection of previous images on USB stick or laptop for review and assessment if you can.
As well as Scotland, I can also offer custom group trips to Iceland, Norway’s Lofoten Islands, Slovenia and the Julian Alps, Venice and Tuscany. The are subject to availability and require a minimum of 4 participants. Please contact me directly for more info and details of fees.
