ONE TO ONE PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION, TOURS AND CUSTOM GUIDING IN SCOTLAND 

Personalised one day or multiple day photography sessions to suit your individual requirements accompanied by Glen with support and tuition along the way.

Master your Camera – half day £175 p/p (each additional participant £95.00 – max 4)

Creative Landscape and Travel Photography  – full day £295 p/p  (each additional participant £95.00 – max 3)

Custom Photo Tours and Solo sessions  from £795.00 p/p* for 2 days (each additional person from £95.00 – max 3)

*multiple day session rates do not include over night guest accommodation. This can be arranged to suit your own preferences and budget and Glen can advise.

MASTER YOUR CAMERA HALF DAY SESSIONS:

Cairngorm

Learn how to master your camera with a one to one private photography workshop. Master manual modes, learn the key features of your camera and improve your photography skills with practical sessions on location in Scotland.

£175.00 per person ( 4 hrs duration ).

Master your Camera sessions are a great introduction for beginners or those trying to find their feet with the basics. They offer a  practical introduction to digital landscape, outdoor and travel photography.

On location – options 

Kingdom of Fife  – St Andrews and Fife’s East Neuk coastline (pick up from St Andrews or Kirkcaldy station)

Edinburgh – Capital city sessions – meet in Edinburgh

Other options upon request.

Rannoch Moor

Topics covered include:

  • basic equipment use and advice, what you need and what you don’t
  • optimising camera functions,
  • shooting in manual and mastering exposure
  • using histograms
  • understanding depth of field
  • composition techniques

Your also encouraged to bring selection of your previous images in digital format for review and assessment, a valueable learning experience in itself.

CREATIVE LANDSCAPE & TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY:

Creative Landscape & travel sessions are a little more advanced and focus on the “creative side” of the capture process.  You’ll learn more about building compositions,  seeing shots, subtleties of soft and hard light and long exposure techniques.

When to use filters and when not to, relying more on camera craft and developing your eye to create powerful imagery rather than heavy handed photo editing skills. Then there’s  lens choice, simplifying workflow and composition  and perhaps a little editing workflow*. A complete practical guide to get you on track and  creating better images.

Highland Beach

Locations

The Kingdom’s  Coast – St Andrews & the fishing villages and seascapes of the East Neuk of Fife. – Pick up in St Andrews or Kirkcaldy train station, a short train ride from Edinburgh’s centre.

 

Myths and Monuments –  The port village of Culross (Outlander and Kidnapped), Stirling Castle, Stirlingshire hills, Mythical Kelpies, Linlithgow Palace and the Forth Bridges – Pick up in Dunfermline or North Queensferry stations

Classic Edinburgh – prepare for some walking as we cover a lot of ground and a range of natural and historic locations in Scotlands wonderful capital city – Meet in Edinburgh

**Heart of Scotland – A wonderful autumn location we’ll wander into the woodlands of the Hermitage and Birks of Aberfeldy,  through the mountains and Glens of beautiful of Perthshire. – Pick up in Perth

**Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park** – Featuring  Forests, mountains, villages,  misty Lochs and Glens. This is a location,  popularised and romanticised by Sir Walter Scott and William Wordsworth and roamed by Rob Roy this is a beautiful and accessible part of Scotland that’s close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. – Pick up North Queensferry station / Stirling / Dunfermline 

Day session duration is around  8-9hrs  depending on time of year. Conditions permitting they can start to coincide with dusk session on location. You’ll be advised prior to pick up or your session time and location unless you have particular preference.

** Locations have a £45 supplement per day and some options may be time limited depending on the time of year.

Other  locations are available for Custom tours over multiple days including Skye , Glencoe, Torridon etc.

Day sessions are approximately 8 hours in total. Time to shoot at mixed locations, experiment,  ask as many questions as you like and get honest critique and feedback during and post session.

All one to one sessions are ran on demand and subject to availability. They include  tuition, guiding, transport to locations, and tea and coffee.

 

CUSTOM PHOTO TOURS AND SOLO SESSIONS 

Isle of Skye

I understand some people like to do their own thing and that’s great. So either on your own, with a group of friends or associates I can tailor a fully guided Custom Photo Tour in Scotland with tuition to suit your preferences.

Not sure where you want go ? Guided and fully escorted Solo sessions are also available  to 3 of the best, with set itineraries to either the Isle of Skye, Glencoe and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are available for up to 3 days.

Custom Tour and Solo Sessions 

From £795.00 for 2 days – single participant £125.00 per additional guest
From £995.00 3 days – single participant £195.00 per additional guest

Includes most mainland locations and Skye.
Inner and Outer Hebridean islands will have additional costs.

(Photo sessions are around 8 hrs per day with some travel in between and some short walks – sessions can be split through the day to offer the best conditions during the longer hours of daylight – a maximum of 3 guests per session).

Contact me directly for bigger groups and/or longer period rates and other specific locations.

These custom sessions offer a more tailored set of options and usually involve a dusk or dawn session depending on the time of year. They offer more location options plus more time for tuition and developing your skills. Drop me a line and I’d be happy to discuss your options.

Please bring a selection of previous images on USB stick or laptop for review and assessment if you can.

Quiraing

Custom Tour options 

Inverness is the Highland capital and perfect as a base to explore the west of The Cairngorm National Park, Loch Ness, Torridon, Inverpolly & Assynt and Glen Affric. You’d stay in Inverness  and be picked each morning then returning later in the day or evening depending on the time of year. You’d be required to arrange accomm0dation for just yourself, and I can offer recommendations.

Solo Sessions –  Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, (2 days) The Isle of Skye,  3 days) Loch Lomond and the Trossachs*(2 days) and the Central Highlands and Glencoe**(2 days).  We’ll base ourselves on location overnight allowing us more time to experience and photograph each area.

Guest accommodation is not included and options range from affordable bunk houses to comfortable guesthouses and hotels which can be arranged by Glen if you wish.

Fairy Pools

As well as Scotland, I can also offer personalised custom group tours to Iceland, Namibia, Norway’s Lofoten Islands, Slovenia, Venice, Tuscany, the Dolomites, Faroe Islands, Canary Islands, Croatia, Asturias the Canary Islands plus more.  These are subject to availability and require a minimum of 4 participants.
