Destination Summary – Hebridean workshop
Highlights include huge pristine beaches with pastel hues that compete with the aquamarine of the Atlantic Ocean, plus the mysterious 5000 year old Calanais standing stones. These are just a sample of what you’ll photograph on this Hebridean photo adventure. This workshop focuses on two of Scotland”s most breathtakingly beautiful areas. The wild empty beaches, coastlines, seascapes and standing stones of the Outer Hebridean Islands of Harris and Lewis and the dramatic Trotternish landforms of the Quiraing and the classic Fairy Pools below the Black Cuillin on the Isle of Skye. This is a photo adventure not to be missed.
Isle of Skye – 1 night
Skye needs little introduction and our first location takes us to the magical inner Hebridean Isle with the big reputation for landscape photography. Big on drama the Trotternish landforms of the Quiraing and the classic Cullin waterfalls and cascades of Glen Brittle will be the key focus of our attention.
After a comfortable night in Portree and sessions in Sligachan and around the Quiraing we’ll take the Calmac ferry over the Minch from Uig to the wild empty and pastel hued beaches and seascapes of Harris. This is a place where time slows down, space opens up and you have a feeling of peace and being in the moment.
Isles of Lewis and Harris – 4 nights
On Tuesday we’ll take the early evening ferry (1.5hrs) from Uig to the Outer Hebridean Island of Harris where we will be based for 4 nights at the wonderful Harris Hotel.
From here we will explore and photograph some of the finest beaches and wide open spaces in the British Isles including Scarasta, Seilabost and Luskentyre.
